Understanding Testosterone Deficiency
Low testosterone (hypogonadism) occurs when the body does not produce sufficient amount of this essential hormone. Testosterone plays a critical role in muscle mass, bone density, mood regulation, energy levels, and sexual function.
As men age, testosterone levels naturally decline — typically by about 1% per year after age 30. However, some men experience a more pronounced decline due to medical conditions, lifestyle factors, or genetics.
Normal testosterone levels generally range from 300 to 1,000 ng/dL. Levels below this range may lead to noticeable symptoms and should be evaluated by a qualified physician.
